Hey there ice cream lovers, today I'm here to talk about the difference between water ice and sorbet. Now, you might think that they're pretty much the same thing, but as a connoisseur of frozen treats, I can tell you that there are some key differences that set these two apart.
First, let's start with water ice. Water ice, also known as Italian ice, or Philadelphia “wudar” ice is a frozen dessert that's made by freezing a flavored liquid mixture of water, sugar, and fruit juices or fruit puree. A smoother texture and a more intense flavor. Water ice is usually served in cups or paper cones and is often sold by street vendors in major East Cost metropolitan areas.
But what about sorbet. Sorbet is also a frozen dessert, but it's made with fruit puree, sugar, and water. It has a smooth texture and is often served as a palate cleanser between courses in fancy restaurants. Sorbet can also be found in grocery stores and ice cream shops, and it's a popular choice for people who are looking for a dairy-free or vegan option. OK, So what's the difference between water ice and sorbet? Well, the main difference is where the Water Ice and Sorbet are being consumed. If in a fancy restaurant it will be served in a fancy dish. With Water Ice, it’s mostly in a plastic cup or paper cone.
Another difference between the two is the texture. Water ice can be slightly grainy texture depending on which part of the Northeast where you reside. However, while sorbet is smoother and creamier. The same is true for Water ice. At Landon’s Ices and Creams, we use fresh fruit puree which gives a much smoother and creamier text similar to our ice cream. The difference is in the quality and the consumption location.
So there you have it, everyone. The difference between water ice and sorbet might seem small. So small there isn’t much difference, but just with everything it’s in the quality of ingredients. Whether you prefer to enjoy these products in a posh restaurant or an ice cream cart, or an ice cream shop. Ensure that you are enjoying the best high-quality ingredients wherever you consume it.
Also know that Landon’s Ices and Creams, got you covered.
